Nyskrevet coming-of-age klimaforestilling om pigen Clara der vil være som sit ikon Greta Thunberg. Den tog tematikkerne om global empati, klimadepression, bæredygtig livsstile og det at være en teenager i klima forandringernes tidsalder op.

Q: Is ‘Mit navn er Greta!’ more about Clara’s story as a teenager or is about Greta Thunberg’s character?
It’s the other way around. Greta is just a way to focus on Clara and the story of a teenager living in the world as it is now, torn between total nihilism related to the future and being hopeful. So it’s mostly about Clara, and we’re using the story of Greta Thunberg more for the way in which she’s comparing herself to her, as a living icon. And we are investigating how this is affecting Clara.
One of the stages that she’s first going through is a depression. In that we are also inspired by the story that Greta Thunberg tells about her way of becoming aware of the climate crisis, where you become depressed because of the state of things, once you actually understand the reality of it. And then you enter into a certain feeling of empowerment, like maybe you are the one that is meant to take action. And we’re doing a story on someone who is inspired by a hero. But then she’s focused only on Greta Thunberg and only on the hero part, which is sort of a problem that Greta mentions herself. And that is what we are also portraying on stage, that the idea is not to unfollow the hero but to listen to all the people involved and look at the present moment, in which we are actually affected by this crisis and not dwell on how you will be affected in the future.
